There was a new championship belt design revealed and a big return on tonight’s jam packed edition of WWE SmackDown (June 9).
After not being seen since WrestleMania 39, a top WWE star has returned on tonight’s WWE SmackDown.
During a segment featuring a new ‘WWE Women’s Championship’ belt being presented to Asuka, Charlotte Flair made her WWE return.
However upon her return, she was greeted by Adam Pearce who noted that she needed to “wait in line,” to which Charlotte rebuffed she doesn’t wait in line, she started the line.
Immediately challenging Asuka for a title shot, she didn’t have to wait long as Asuka accepted immediately.
Asuka attemped to hit Flair with the mist however, Charlotte quickly escaped out of the way before the end of the segment.
However after there had already been a backstage segment featuring Bianca Belair who was interested in ‘getting her lick back’ on Asuka for having lost the title to her in a dubious way.
With Adam Pearce shown pitching the idea for an Asuka and Charlotte Flair match at Money in the Bank in three weeks time, Belair was shown glaring as Pearce said he would have to call the mystery authority figure back.
Elsewhere on tonight’s WWE SmackDown, there continued to be qualifying matches for the upcoming premium live event, Money in the Bank in London on Saturday, July 1, 2023.
