‘Great Reaction’ Backstage To WWE SmackDown Moment

Details have emerged on the WWE backstage reaction to a segment which took place on the May 23 SmackDown episode.

Truth faced his childhood hero John Cena at Saturday Night’s Main Event, attempting to bring out the good guy in the WWE Champion.

One night before this match, R-Truth cut a passionate promo in SmackDown, where instead of joking around, Truth noted that he planned to beat the hustle, loyalty and respect back into John cena.

With many fans talking about this promo, the backstage reaction to R-Truth’s segment has now been revealed.

Per Fightful Select, Truth’s promo received a “great reaction” from those spoken with backstage.

Truth was ultimately unable to defeat Cena, but appeared to get the WWE Champion to second-guess his ruining-wrestling ways.

In the closing moments of the match, Cena decided against striking Truth with the championship belt and handed the gold over the the referee.

This change of heart was short-lived, with Cena delivering a low blow to Truth, before hitting him with a match-winning Attitude Adjustment.

John Cena went on to hit Truth with the championship belt after the match.
