According to a report from Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, WWE has tentative plans to reveal the identity of the SmackDown hacker on tonight’s “season premiere” episode of Monday Night Raw.
The report notes that, as expected, Mustafa Ali will be revealed as the hacker. However, the reveal reportedly won’t be a major part of the plans that WWE has for RETRIBUTION on the show, and will just tie up some loose ends:
Fightful has learned that early versions of creative for WWE Raw this week featured Ali revealing himself as the Smackdown hacker in a promo set for the show. We’re told that it wasn’t intended to be a focal point of the Retribution angle, or even mentioned at some points, but was pitched as a way to tie up loose ends. As always plans can change, but as of Monday morning, those we spoke to said it was planned in a short promo segment
It’s likely that WWE didn’t originally plan on having the SmackDown hacker and RETRIBUTION be linked, but it certainly makes sense to retroactively fit that in following the reveal two weeks ago that Ali is the group’s leader.
As the report states, while plans can (and often do) change as we get closer to the show, the current plans have Mustafa Ali revealing himself to be the SmackDown hacker on the show.
