WWE SmackDown in Brief: June 26 2018

A shocking reunion! Here’s the SmackDown News in Brief…

The show began with Miz TV and The Bludgeon Brothers were special guests. As Miz mocked Daniel Bryan, the man himself emerged and challenged Harper and Rowan, which set up tonight’s main event.

Daniel Bryan beat Harper by DQ when Rowan interfered just as Bryan had Harper in the Yes Lock. Kane made the save! Team Hell No then reunited to take out The Bludgeon Brothers. Daniel Bryan and Kane then hugged it out to a huge reaction. Paige then emerged to announce it will be The Bludgeon Brothers vs Team Hell No at Extreme Rules! To say the crowd loved all of this, would be an understatement.

Jeff Hardy vs Eric Young (replacing the injured Shinsuke Nakamura) for the US Title ended in a non contest when The Usos, Killian Dain and Alexander Wolfe joined in and they all began brawling. This led to Jeff Hardy and The Usos beating SAnitY in an exciting six man tag when Hardy pinned Alexander Wolfe with the Swanton Bomb. Why are SAnitY losing on their debut?

The cast of GLOW met Naomi and Lana backstage. Lana’s Russian accent was nowhere to be seen. In a cringeworthy segment, the GLOW girls convinced Naomi and Lana to team. Feel the GLOW, get it?

Rusev beat Xavier Woods with the Accolade. Rusev then cut an intense promo vowing to win the title from AJ Styles at Extreme Rules, as the fans engaged in duelling “AJ STYLES!” and “RUSEV DAY!” chants.

James Ellsworth cut a promo calling out Asuka. But Paige came out and revealed Asuka wasn’t there and Ellsworth knew that. The GM then announced Carmella vs Asuka at Extreme Rules. Paige then made Asuka vs Ellsworth for next week’s SmackDown Live!

Becky Lynch beat Sonya Deville by submission with the Disarmer.

Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas and Zelina Vega cut a backstage promo referencing them putting Sin Cara on the shelf and warning the SmackDown roster to stay out of their way.
