WWE SmackDown Live In Brief: July 10 2018

The final SmackDown Live before Extreme Rules went down like this…

The show began with Team Hell No on Miz TV. Miz stirred the pot between Daniel Bryan and Kane and tried to provoke them, telling Bryan to “hide behind your broken down Demon”. As Kane grabbed Miz, Harper and Rowan, then SANitY turned up. Harper, Rowan, Eric Young, Alexander Wolfe and Killian Dain assaulted Team Hell No until The New Day ran out to help, as Tom Phillips mentioned that SANitY will face The New Day in a tables match on the Extreme Rules kick-off show. The heels though, stayed on top and destroyed everyone.

Later, Team Hell No met with The New Day and tried to get on the same page in a funny segment where Kane quoted lyrics from boy band N’SYNC. You had to be there.

Team Hell No and The New Day beat The Bludgeon Brothers and SANitY in a 10-man tag when Bryan pinned Young after a Busaiku knee. After the match, Daniel did Kane’s trick with the pyro and The Big Red Machine looked miffed.

Rusev and Shinsuke Nakamura beat AJ Styles and Jeff Hardy when Rusev pinned Hardy after a Machka Kick. This tag match came out of the advertised singles match between Styles and Nakamura. Rusev was on commentary and attacked the WWE Champion, causing a DQ. Hardy ran out to even the odds and Paige made the tag match.

Asuka beat James Ellsworth with the Asuka Lock in a lumberjack match. Lumberjacks (or jills) were Lana, Sonya Deville, Mandy Rose, Naomi, The Iiconics and Becky Lynch. And Carmella, of course. After the match, Ellsworth sprayed something in Asuka’s eyes and Carmella knocked her Extreme Rules challenger out with a kick. Later, Paige added a stipulation for the SmackDown Women’s Title match at Extreme Rules – Ellsworth will be suspended above the ring in a shark cage.

Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas pinned Sin Cara after the Drive Through Knees.
