WWE SmackDown Live in Brief: September 11 2018

Here’s a quick rundown of happenings on last night’s show:

Brie Bella beat Maryse by DQ in a quick match when The Miz pulled Brie out of the ring to break the Yes-Lock. Afterwards Bryan and his wife both beat up The Miz.

Jeff Hardy beat Shinsuke Nakamura by DQ when Randy Orton interfered but Hardy then fought back against Orton and laid him out with chair shots, a Twist of Fate and a Swanton Bomb.

Samoa Joe read a bedtime story he called ‘Night Night AJ’ to once again play mind games with WWE Champion AJ Styles and his family.

AJ Styles did his own sit down interview in an empty SmackDown arena to hype his match with Joe at Hell in a Cell

Rusev Day defeated The Bar to earn a SmackDown Tag Team Title shot when Rusev pinned Sheamus following a Machka Kick after English had taken the Brogue Kick.

Charlotte Flair beat Sonya Deville by submission to the Figure Eight. Afterwards Becky Lynch, who was disguised as a fan in the front row, attacked Charlotte and applied the DisArmHer on the rampway.

Asuka and Naomi met in a backstage segment where the language barrier meant they had some misunderstandings but they ended it as pals.

Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas (with Zelina Vega) ended R Truth’s winning streak at one when he pinned him with a roll up using the tights. Truth was accompanied again by Carmella.
