WWE SmackDown Live News in Brief, June 12 2018

This is what happened in the blue brand’s Money in the Bank go-home show:

Charlotte Flair, Asuka, Becky Lynch, Naomi and Lana beat Carmella, The Iiconics, Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose when Asuka made the SmackDown Women’s Champion tap to the Asuka Lock. This match was set up earlier when Paige held a ‘Women’s Summit’ with the four SmackDown MITB match competitors which was interrupted by Peyton Royce, Billie Kay, Deville and Rose and ended in a big fight. Becky Lynch shone on the mic in this segment.

Jeff Hardy beat Shinsuke Nakamura by DQ after guess what? Yep, a low blow. After the match Nakamura laid out Hardy with the Kinshasa then counted 10 over him. What a heel.

Rusev pinned Samoa Joe after a Machka Kick in a match where The Miz was special referee. Miz refused to count an earlier pin on Rusev by Joe and The Bulgarian Brute took advantage of the argument to land the match-winning kick. After the match Miz dropped Rusev with the Skull Crushing Finale then climbed a ladder to claim the MITB briefcase. Miz then opened the briefcase expecting to find a contract but the case was instead full of New Day pancakes! Earlier Paige had appointed Miz special ref in an entertaining backstage segment.

Daniel Bryan made Shelton Benjamin tap to the heel hook in a fine match. Big Cass was on the show, but only for his usual anti-Bryan promo backstage,

Jerry Lawler interviewed AJ Styles in front of the crowd. The champ didn’t say much of interest. The build-up for this Sunday’s Last Man Standing match couldn’t have been much colder.

And that’s your lot!
