It’s the Fastlane go-home edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown. What will be the next development in the Roman Reigns/Daniel Bryan saga? Will Edge or Jey Uso become the special guest enforcer for Sunday’s pay-per-view?
Here is the advertised card for the show:
- Edge to battle Jey Uso to become the Special Enforcer at WWE Fastlane
- Sasha Banks to put her SmackDown Womenβs Title on the line against Nia Jax
- Big E and Apollo Crews to sit down for an exclusive interview en route to WWE Fastlane
Special Enforcer
Edge and Jey Uso is underway. The match starts off pretty hot and heavy.
Edge ends up having damaged ribs and Uso attacks. As we go to commercial, Uso slams Edge into the announcer’s table and he’s selling his ribs.
The match goes for about 10 minutes. Edge’s ribs are hurt. Uso has hurt his shoulder. Uso hits the Uso Splash for a near fall.
Moments later, Edge hits a spear. Edge gets the win. After the match, Roman Reigns spears Edge. Roman lures Bryan into the ring.
Uso attacks from behind. Roman hits another spear. This time it’s on Daniel Bryan.
We will be providing live coverage of Fastlane on Sunday. See you then.

It's a cluster
Belair comes to the ring to face Shayna Baszler. The match starts after Sasha Banks comes out. She doesn’t stay long. She leaves Belair all on her own.
Moments later, Nia Jax left her partner all along too. Shayna and Belair fought for a minute before they were attacked by Natalya and Tamina.
They get beat up and Natalya/Tamina stand tall.

BIg E and Apollo
Big E threatens Apollo’s life. Apollo speaks in his accent and threatens him back.
Big E has heard E-nough. He ends the interview and jumps in a golf cart. He doesn’t run anyone over, but he finds Apollo. The two have a big battle in the back.
We also get the announcement Shinsuke Nakamura and Seth Rollins has been added to Sunday.

The least anticipated match in WWE history
WWE hyped this match by saying unfortunately there must be a winner. But, the good news is there must also be a loser. Nice. They are now calling this the least anticipated match of all time.
Sami Zayn almost has the win, but the ref catches him cheating. He keeps catching him cheating. This leads him into The End of Days.
Kevin Owens is on commentary and he’s not buying the conspiracy theory. After the match, Sami Zayn tries to get Owens to agree that the refs are against him. Sami screams at Kevin and then absolutely kicks his head off.
Man, that connected.

Daniel Bryan the hype man
Daniel Bryan hypes Uso vs. Edge later on the show. He says we know what will happen if Uso is the enforcer. Basically, interference all night.
He then says he isn’t sure if Edge will interfere. Edge is the ultimate opportunist. He thinks Edge is afraid to face him and wants to face Roman.
Bryan says he knows he can beat Roman Reigns. This brings out the Tribal Chief. Roman says Daniel Bryan has no chance at tapping him out. He says he’d rather die than tap out.
He says no one has ever tapped him out and Bryan isn’t going to either. Bryan says everyone thinks they are unbeatable until they get beat. Bryan says he’s going to break him, but he hopes he doesn’t die.

Sami and Kevin
Sami and Kevin Zayn are backstage. Kevin hasn’t decided if he wants to help Zayn’s documentary project. Sami asks Kevin to join him ringside in a match against Baron Corbin. Whoohoo!
Daniel Bryan has come to the ring to talk.

Tag Match Number 2
Otis and Chad Gable are facing off against Dominik and Rey. Ziggler and Roode are still on commentary. The Street Profits join them.
This match has lasted much longer. Wow, Ziggler on commentary is annoying.
While it’s nice to have 4 teams on SmackDown, we’re still a long way from having effective booking of this division.
Dominik hits a beautiful springboard tornado DDT. Nearfall, but Otis breaks it up.
Otis hits a massive splash on Rey Mysterio. Rey was about halfway across the ring. Otis gets the win.
WWE’s booking is so odd. In this segment, The Street Profits look stupid. You book The Mysterios to look like luck winners. Then Alpha Academy, who are heels, defeat the victorious faces. So, now the heel champs, Ziggler and Roode, have no faces to challenge them. I just don’t understand.
The scary POWER of @otiswwe. πΆ#SmackDown pic.twitter.com/W9SJ9fSZ7M

Street Profits vs. Mysterios
The Street Profits are taking on Rey and Dominik. The Dirty Dawgs Roode and Ziggler are on commentary.
In a very quick match, without much build, The Mysterios get the win. Dominik rolls up Dawkins and gets a surprise win.
After the match, Alpha Academy come to the ring. They pick on Rey Mysterio being short. Now, we’re getting a match between the Mysterios and Alpha Academy.

Embrace the vision
I am not embracing the vision of Rollins’s suit tonight. Wow. That’s an eyesore.
He cuts a promo on Cesaro. He claims Cesaro is jealous.
Seth shows the replay of last week where he delivered a couple of stomps to Cesaro. Seth goes from laughing maniacally to being very serious. He’s very upset about being swung.
When he finishes speaking, Cesaro’s friend Shinsuke Nakamura comes down to the ring. He takes the mic from Seth up and tells him to shut up. Nakamura hits Rollins with a kick and Rollins runs away.
Shinsuke does the C’mon taunt and Rollins gets back in. Nakamura takes him out.

Edge speaks
Edge speaks backstage. He talks about his match tonight with Jey Uso. He basically says him winning is the only way Daniel Bryan gets a fair shake on Sunday.
Something tells me DBry isn’t getting a fair shake no matter what. I actually want Bryan to win.
"As long as he follows @WWERomanReigns' shadow, Jey @WWEUsos is going to keep running into trouble. Tonight… I'm that trouble."#SmackDown @EdgeRatedR pic.twitter.com/fofzr1W3sn

It's Boss Time
Belair and Banks are jawing at each other backstage. Belair tells Banks this match was a bad idea and she’s not going to help her.
Banks heads to the ring for her title match. Nia Jax is out. Baszler is in her corner, but no Reginald tonight. Reginald is at the spa courtesy of Nia.
For some reason, Belair comes to the ring after saying she wasn’t going to. She cheers on Sasha.
Nia Jax has dominated this match. She is destroying Banks. Jax actually had a very impressive move. She had the Stretch Muffler on Banks and then started rocking her back and forth.
She walked over to the corner and swung her face-first into the bottom turnbuckle. Near fall.
This match was going so well. Then Baszler and Belair had an awkward exchange on the outside. Baszler rolls into the ring. The ref grabs Belair.
Then the bad spots continue as Baszler sets up for what seemed like forever. Banks and Jax separate long before Baszler goes for the kick. Then she straight kicks Jax in the chest.
To cover up the bad spot, Graves had to ask if she did it on purpose.
