WWE SmackDown Live SPOILERS – New Year’s Day Taping

Below are full spoilers for this coming Tuesday’s New Year’s Day episode of SmackDown Live.

New Day open the show in the ring with their New Year’s Day celebration, and announce that each of them will be in the men’s Royal Rumble match.
Samoa Joe def. Jeff Hardy with the Coquina Clutch. The win earned Joe the final spot in a WWE Title no.1 contender’s match also including Mustafa Ali, Rey Mysterio, Randy Orton and AJ Styles later in the show.
Tension backstage between Styles, Vince and Shane. AJ threatens Vince and says he will see the real AJ tonight, which causes Shane to step in and confront Styles. Shane then asks Vince if he is sure he wants to see the real AJ. He replies that… yes he is.
Rusev Day celebration with new US Champion Rusev and his wife Lana. He was attacked by former champion Nakamura. The attack left both Rusev and Lana down in the ring.
Sonya Deville def. Naomi – Mandy Rose was set to take on Naomi, but Sonya stepped in. Mandy then revealed that she had been sending Naomi’s husband seductive photos:

John Cena returns and comes out for a promo. He is cut off by the ‘Man’ Becky Lynch, who says she is taking Cena’s place as the face of the company. Almas and Vega then come out and we end up with a mixed tag.
Cena and Lynch def. Almas and Vega – Lynch threw Cena out the ring before locking Zelina in the Dis-Arm-Her for the win.
The Miz tells Shane that, to be a real tag team, they need to dress like each other.
Carmella, Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair all tell Triple H they should be next in line for a shot at Asuka’s SmackDown Women’s Title. Trips said he and the McMahons will make a decision
AJ Styles def. Rey Mysterio, Mustafa Ali, Randy Orton and Samoa Joe in a Fatal Five-way – Styles will take on Bryan for the WWE Title at Royal Rumble.
