There was set to be a big hoss battle between Sheamus and Drew McIntyre on WWE SmackDown however no such luck.
Before the main event, Sheamus made his entrance but then was suddenly struck by a coughing fit during which he speculated it “might be the COVID” and since rules dictate he needs to be tested before he can compete, he instead would be subbing in Butch.
A fairly fast squash match ensued between Drew McIntyre and Butch with the show ending on Drew vowing to still get his hands on Sheamus in advance of Clash at the Castle.
Elsewhere on the show, Austin Theory lurked Roman Reigns, GUNTHER laid some smack down, Ronda Rousey and Natalya did battle again while another star turned heel.
Tonight’s SmackDown taping comes on the heels of continued allegations about Vince McMahon and alleged sexual misconduct over a span of decades as reported by the Wall Street Journal which you can read more about here.
