WWE SmackDown Match Cut For Time

WWE SmackDown Match Cut For Time WWE

A match on last night’s WWE SmackDown premiere episode on the USA Network was reportedly cut for time during the show.

Last night’s episode of SmackDown marked the show’s return to the USA Network after five years on FOX, and kicked off with an Undisputed WWE Championship match between Cody Rhodes and Solo Sikoa.

Cody ended up scoring the victory in the match, with Roman Reigns making his return to the show to aid Cody against Solo, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa and Jacob Fatu.

The match and accompanying segments took up the first 40 minutes of the programme, which was commercial free, as well as the show being bookended by a contract signing, confirming Cody and Roman facing off with Solo and Jacob at Bad Blood next month.

The match after the opening match saw Michin face off against Piper Niven, and the match was over before it ever really got going, and we now know more as to why that is.

Per Fightful Select (subscription required), the Michin vs Niven match was originally slated to get more minutes, before it was ultimately cut for time.

Michin and Chelsea Green are set to take part in a Dumpster match on next week’s episode of SmackDown.

The dumpster match was announced by Nick Aldis on SmackDown Lowdown.
