WWE SmackDown Viewership Up For October 22

The final viewership figures for the October 22 edition of WWE SmackDown on FOX have been revealed.

According to Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics, Friday’s episode of SmackDown drew an average of 2.249 million viewers. This is significantly up from the  866,000 viewers who tuned in to SmackDown on FS1 on October 15.

In the key 18-49 demographic, the show received a 0.58 rating, roughly 759,000 viewers in the demo. This is up from the previous week’s 0.24 rating.

On the show, Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch officially exchanged the Raw and SmackDown Women’s Titles. After the segment, there was a heated confrontation between the two champions backstage, after Flair dropped the Raw Women’s gold instead of handing it to Lynch.

There is reportedly heat on Flair backstage, with many believing she took attention away from the angle with Sasha Banks. Vince McMahon was reportedly unhappy with Flair after she didn’t speak with him before leaving gorilla position, where the altercation took place.
