WWE Star Warns Fans Of Social Media Scam

WWE on-screen official and backstage producer Adam Pearce has been forced to address a common social media scam involving Twitter accounts posing as WWE stars in order to gain funds from unsuspecting fans.

Pearce took to his own Twitter account to call attention to the ongoing scams and pointed out things fans can look for to spot a scam account.

Pearce tweeted:

If you’ve been persuaded to give money to a purported WWE Superstar:

1. I’m very sorry.

2. Screen names with misspellings or formatted like “wwesuperstar7638291” are not the actual person.

3. I cannot remedy your situation and suggest you contact law enforcement.

Scams of this ilk are unfortunately not a new occurrence with top WWE stars like Becky Lynch and Alexa Bliss previously attempting to notify fans of similar situations last year.

Unfortunately, as Pearce notes in the comments of the post, many stars no longer have verified blue check marks on their accounts anymore due to Elon Musk’s controversial changes to the platform.

The blue check was once an easy way to tell scammers from the real verified accounts, however, now that a blue check requires a paid subscription, many have decided against having the mark next to their name.

We would like to also advise fans to ignore or block any accounts of this kind that seem suspicious and reach out to you requesting payment of any kind, do your due diligence and be safe online.
