A WWE tag team officially split up on tonight’s SmackDown after the prospect being teased over the past weeks and earlier in the show.
Nick Aldis may have attempted to suspend Kevin Owens from WWE after his attack on Cody Rhodes, but he still managed to wage another backstage assault at tonight’s SmackDown.
On tonight’s October 11 WWE SmackDown Kevin Owens was involved in an interruption earlier in the show where he ended up getting struck down by Orton, who was trying to break up a Owens/Rhdoes brawl.
Orton only got involved in the situation after Owens attempted to hijack the broadcast (despite being ‘suspended’ according to commentary), interrupting the debut entrance of NXT’s Jakara Jackson and Lash Legend.
However the altercation would resume later as during a segment with DIY and the Street Profits, SmackDown GM Nick Aldis’ attention was pulled to an emerging security issue.
He then quickly saw what the kerfuffle was about as Kevin Owens was attacking Randy Orton.
Orton was already on the ground being pummeled by Owens as security attempted to intervene.
Kevin Owens shared some rationale for the attack as he continued to attempt to strike, expressing frustration that Randy Orton was now choosing sides in the situation.
