Report: Changes Made To WWE Spot Reminiscent Of Major Injury WWE

Backstage news has emerged on WWE significantly toning down a spot that was said to draw memories to Big E’s neck injury.

Big E’s injury has been on the minds of many fans following the former WWE Champion’s return on the December 2 edition of Raw, in a segment where Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods argued that Big E has chosen his new life over the New Day.

Two years on from the injury, reports have indicated that a notable spot set for a match at WWE NXT Deadline on December 7 was changed ahead of the show.

Per Fightful Select, a spot in the Trick Williams vs Ridge Holland NXT Title match that ‘drew memories of Big E’s neck injury’ was toned down during pre-show rehearsals.

Fightful Select shared the following:

A spot during Trick Williams and Ridge Holland at NXT Deadline that was said to draw memories of Big E’s neck injury was toned down significantly between rehearsals and the match occurring on the show.

Big E suffered a broken neck after taking a belly-to-belly suplex from Ridge Holland outside the ring on the March 11, 2022 SmackDown episode.

Holland has since had an NXT storyline where he has been concerned about injuring people, but now wrestles as a heel on the developmental brand.
