WWE Star Apologizes After Saturday Night’s Main Event Loss, Blames Referee

WWE Star Apologizes After Saturday Night’s Main Event Loss, Blames Referee

A WWE star has apologized to her fans after her loss at Saturday Night’s Main Event, while also blaming the official in charge of referring the contest.

The July 18 edition of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event kicked off with the only title match of the night, as Fatal Influence’s Lainey Reid & Fallon Henley challenged WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Paige & Brie Bella.

While Lainey Reid recently picked up momentum by defeating Brie Bella in singles action on the July 3 episode of SmackDown, the champions had yet to be defeated in tag team action since winning the gold at WrestleMania 42, and even picked up a win over Fatal Influence in a non-title match last month.

That ultimately didn’t count for much however, with the presence of Fatal Influence’s leader Jacy Jayne instead proving to be the decisive factor.

After Jayne’s interference saw Reid roll-up Paige for the win, the English star took to social media to apologize to her fans disappointed by the result.

Posting to Twitter, Paige wrote:

Well s**t… sorry you guys

While she was apologetic, Paige also made sure to point out that referee Jessika Carr should have done a better job with her count, as Jayne’s interference certainly appeared rather blatant.

Showing solidarity with Becky Lynch, who has long been critical of Jessika Carr, or “Crooked Carr,” as she calls her, Paige wrote:

Also.. Becky was right about that ref

While Paige and Becky Lynch are now firmly in the anti-Jessika Carr camp, Lainey Reid, unsurprisingly is a big fan of the WWE official.

Responding to Paige’s post about Carr, Reid wrote:

Triple H Comments On Fatal Influence’s WWE Women’s Tag Team Title Win

While WWE’s booking of Jacy Jayne as a singles star has been questioned by some sections of the WWE fan base, Fatal Influence’s big win helps them stand out as one of the real NXT call-up success stories of 2026 thus far.

Marking Lainey Reid’s first taste of gold in WWE, and Fallon Henley’s fourth, after previously holding the NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles with Kiana James, NXT Women’s North American Title and the WWE Women’s Speed Championship, the group’s latest win should result in them having an increased presence across WWE programming, as the Women’s Tag Team Champions are required to defend their gold across all three brands.

One WWE name who was certainly impressed with what he saw from Fatal Influence in New York City was WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H, with ‘The Game’ sharing a message for the new champions, along with a picture alongside them backstage.

Posting on Twitter, Triple H wrote:
