Following her absence from TV, former WWE Women’s Champion Asuka of Damage CTRL has provided an update on knee injury.
At WWE Backlash 2024, Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill defeated the Kabuki Warriors to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships.
Since the premium live event, Asuka has been out of action with a knee injury. This forced her to be removed from the Queen of the Ring tournament.
On June 5, Asuka took to social media to post a photo of her knee in a brace to confirm that she has undergone surgery. The caption reads:

“The Empress of Tomorrow” revealed on her YouTube channel that her knee has been bothering for quite some time now. In the video, she wrote:
“After the Backlash of my European tour, I had to take a break to treat my knee that I had been hurting for a while,”
“My partners Kairi and Dakota helped me a lot during this tour as I could not move at my best. I am very grateful to both of them.”
Asuka was seen favoring her knee in the post match to the Bayley vs. Dakota Kai match on the March 15 episode of SmackDown. She was later removed from that weekend’s live events.
The former WWE Women’s Champion later returned to action at the start of April and wrestled alongside Kairi Sane and Dakota Kai against Bianca Belair, Jade Cargill and Naomi at WrestleMania 40.
