A WWE star has shown signs that he could be turning babyface after his first main roster championship win at SummerSlam.
One of SummerSlam’s several title changes on the night saw Bron Breakker defeat Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental Championship.
Breakker appeared on the WWE SummerSlam post-show for an interview, and either broke character, or showed signs of a babyface turn.
Despite his recent actions towards Zayn in recent weeks, Breakker was complimentary of the former champion during his interview, paying respects to Zayn’s run as champion and career overall.
Breakker said:
“I think we all should pay our respects, big shoutout to Sami Zayn here today. Sami Zayn – I’ve said it before, I’ve said it during this period of time that I’ve had with Sami, that Sami has been on top for quite some time.
“He’s main evented WrestleMania, he’s had the Intercontinental Championship multiple times, World Tag Team Champion, he’s had a Hall of Fame career. There’s no doubt he’s gonna be in the Hall of Fame one day.
“He gave me an opportunity at the Intercontinental Championship when I was a new kid. No-one really knew what I was capable of or what I was gonna do up here, or any of that. So he gave me an opportunity, he gave me a chance at the Intercontinental Championship, and I think we all have to really respect that.”

Breakker was also asked what kind of WWE Intercontinental Champion he’s gonna be, and again, he gave a pretty babyface answer about holding the title to its highest standards and welcoming all challengers.
He said:
“I’m gonna carry this championship with the most prestige and honor that I can – hold it to the highest standards and the highest level that we can do on Monday night Raw.
“I’m hoping to elevate this championship along with myself along the way. I’m looking forward to it.
“I can’t wait to get to work, challenge myself, and put myself up against the best and defend this championship, this prestigious title that’s had so much history and so many great champions.”
