WWE Star Calls Out Michael Cole After Commentary Misnaming

A WWE star has called out Michael Cole after she was recently misnamed, not for the first time, at the Evolution premium live event.

This past Sunday (July 13) saw WWE bring back the all-women’s Evolution PLE, a show that has been hailed by many fans as one of WWE’s best of 2025.

While Evolution featured many highlights, one WWE star is not seemingly not feeling too satisfied following the show – that being SmackDown star Candice LeRae.

During her appearance in the Evolution Battle Royal, WWE veteran commentator Michael Cole mistakingly referred to LeRae as former WWE Women’s Champion Candice Michelle on more than one occasion, including when LeRae was eliminated by NXT star Jaida Parker.

Cole has been under fire from fans for making this mistake before, doing so previously on an October 2023 episode of WWE Raw – with Candice Michelle herself even compiling his unintentional mentions of her in an Instagram post after Evolution.

In her post Evolution update, Candice LeRae mentioned Cole’s blunder, saying that the veteran’s long-time WWE rival Bayley was apparently “right about him” all along.

LeRae wrote via Instagram:

“How’s life?”

Well…. Michael Cole keeps screwing up my name (@itsmebayley was right about him apparently), the NXT girls are super disrespectful bullies, and then I came home to my beautiful son…. Who kicked me in the nose and busted me open. Doing great. But hey! I have new merch sooooo…. If anyone is interested in cheering me up…. There’s that.

LeRae has most recently been by the side of her husband Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa on SmackDown, however, Evolution saw LeRae reunite with Nia Jax, of whom she had been teaming with in late 2024 – early 2025.
