WWE Star Calls Wrestling Live Action Comic Books

Comic books and superheroes are wickedly popular these days. The art, characters, creativity, and stories have created a massive fanbase and now WWE star Cesaro thinks pro wrestling is kinda like that.

During his recent appearance on After the Bell, Cesaro talked about the similarities between the two mediums. Here is the quote, courtesy of Wrestle Zone:

“I always say like, well, imagine like a comic come to life, and you can actually go see it, and touch and say hello to your superheroes, right? Because that’s what it is. You watch wrestling, you find your Avengers or you know, whatever to Marvel or DC guy, that’s up to you. You find your Batman or Superman or whatever, and we actually come to your town or to your country, and you can come see us.

That’s how I see wrestling, so the more different guys we have, different characters we have, the better, right? Because there’s a guy that likes, you know, the Fiend and the fire and the crazy cinematics, and there’s a guy that just like to see some guy wrestle. There’s something for everyone.”

Pro wrestling and comic books have seen quite a bit of crossover in recent years. The likes of Batista, John Cena, and The Rock have all been cast in comic book movies.

Batista has been Drax in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, while Cena will play Peacemaker in The Suicide Squad, and The Rock will play the titular role in Black Adam.
