WWE Star Comments On Negative Response To Return

Last night on Friday Night SmackDown, Carmella returned to TV for the first time in several months to reveal herself as the subject of the mystery vignettes that have been airing on TV over the last few weeks.

Carmella last wrestled for WWE on the April 25 episode of SmackDown, where she successfully defeated Raw-newcomer Mandy Rose in singles competition. Prior to last night, this was her last appearance on TV.

Taking to Twitter, Carmella (real name Leah Van Dale) has commented on the negative response from some fans regarding her return, particularly concerning her physical appearance:

Been off tv & out of the public eye for over five months. I come back for one night & the amount of negative comments I see just based on my looks alone is disgusting. I forgot what a toxic place social media can truly be. Thank god I know what a hot b*tch I am

Carmella noted during her promo on last night’s show that it doesn’t matter what show she is drafted to, so despite her return vignettes airing on SmackDown recently, it is not clear whether she’ll be a regular fixture on Friday nights.
