A WWE SmackDown star and current champion has commented on the possibility of being split from his tag team partner at some point in the future.
WWE split up approximately 9,248 tag teams throughout 2020, but one that remained unscathed was the Street Profits. It’s always a looming possibility though, and Montez Ford has given his thoughts on it potentially happening.
Speaking with Comic Book, Ford said:
“But as far as us having singles matches, it’s one of the things that like, if myself and Dawkins were to get drafted and go separate ways, it would definitely be one of those situations where like, he’ll support me and be all for it and vice versa. It’s one of those things where we’ll just be supportive, man.
“So yeah, it’d be definitely one of those things that we’d be supportive and be excited about, but I don’t think that’s happening any time soon. Because like I said, I can fly around and jump, but I definitely need my tag team partner to knock over these bigger guys, man. You got people like Braun Strowman and Keith Lee that work on the same roster as us.”
The Profits held the Raw Tag Team Championship from March 2, until swapping titles with then-SmackDown Tag Team Champions New Day on October 12 when they were both shifted to opposite brands in the WWE Draft.
Many people have recognised Ford’s talent and some have even tipped him to be a future main event talent in WWE.
