A WWE star has been confirmed to be defending their championship at TNA Wrestling’s Bound for Glory pay-per-view on October 12.

WWE star Trick Williams’ over 100 day reign as TNA World Champion has seen him successfully defend the title across NXT, Impact and TNA pay-per-views, with Joe Hendry, Elijah and Moose among those that have tried and failed to bring the gold back to TNA.

After falling short to Trick Williams on two occasions during his title run under questionable circumstances, Mike Santana has been building his case for a rematch against the champion over the past several weeks on TNA TV, even going as far as to appear on WWE NXT and cause Trick to lose an NXT Championship number one contender’s match on the August 19 episode of NXT.

After Trick’s lawyer stood in the way of an announcement last week, Marella opened tonight’s show with an official announcement regarding Williams’ next title defense.

As can be seen below, Marella confirmed that it will be Trick Williams vs. Mike Santana for the TNA World Championship at Bound for Glory in Lowell, MA on October 12.

Responding to the announcement via a short video uploaded to Twitter from the comfort of his own home, rather than the Impact Zone, Williams said:

“What’s up man? What you want from me? I’m at home chilling trying to watch the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Dallas Cowboys on the opening night but my phone’s blowing up. People wanna talk about Mike Santana at Bound for Glory. Man get off my phone man.

“There’s something for everyone to realize, I don’t owe TNA, excuse me, Trick-NA a damn thing. I already gave you everything you needed. I already broke the attendance records, give you TV deals, great matches, what more do you want from me man?

“I tell you what, since you keep begging me so bad, I’ll think about it. But because y’all are in Minnesota and nothing good is in Minnesota, including the Vikings I’m not showing up to TNA anytime soon. Let’s talk about it.”

Elsewhere on tonight’s Impact, former WWE star Indi Hartwell earned the right to challenge for the TNA Knockout’s World Title at Bound for Glory, defeating Dani Luna and Jody Threat.

Hartwell will have to wait to find out who will walk into Bound for Glory as champion as Ash By Elegance defends her title against Masha Slamovich at TNA Victory Road on September 27.
