UPDATE: It has now been reported that Santos Escobar’s WWE contract is set to expire at midnight tonight, with him set to become a free agent tomorrow.
A WWE star’s contract is reportedly set to expire soon amid recent speculation about their future with the company.
Back in 2022, Legado Del Fantasma made their way up to the WWE main roster, with Santos Escobar, Joaquin Wilde and Cruz Del Toro joining forces with Zelina Vega on SmackDown.
The four would later go on to join the LWO with Rey Mysterio, before Santos turned on Rey to leave the group, reforming a version of Legado Del Fantasma with Angel and Berto of Los Garza.
In recent months, Legado Del Fantasma had been appearing in AAA, with Angel and Berto winning the AAA World Tag Team Championship over the Summer.
However, during recent appearances on SmackDown, Angel and Berto, while still being announced as representing Legado Del Fantasma, have appeared without Santos, with his absence leading to fans speculating about his status with the company.
In an update on Santos’ status from Fightful Select (subscription required), Santos’ WWE contract is reportedly set to expire soon.
We will provide any updates on Santos’ status as they become available.
