WWE Star Criticizes Velcro On Championship Belts WWE

A WWE star has criticized WWE championship belts for having velcro fasteners, and Shawn Michaels has responded to his comments.

Ethan Page is still the NXT North American Champion following Deadline, after defeating Mr Iguana to retain his title at the December 6 show.

Ahead of his match, Shawn Michaels shared a video of Ethan Page backstage, where he criticized other WWE title belt designs.

Showing off the snap fasteners on his custom Canada-themed North American Championship, Ethan Page said:

“Mine actually has clips, because I’m not a toddler like the rest of the roster who uses velcro, you bunch of dorks.”

Addressing Page’s comments and hyping up the North American Championship match slated for Deadline, Shawn Michaels wrote:

“I’m not sure what he has against velcro… but I am sure that @OfficialEGO will put his North American Title on the line TONIGHT at #NXTDeadline!”

A number of top WWE titles first switched from having snap fasteners to velcro in 2019, with it being quicker to put on and take off the velcro belts.

Ethan Page is currently a double champion, also holding the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championship alongside SmackDown’s Chelsea Green.
