A WWE star is set for their on-screen debut match and they’ve been given a new ring name to go along with it.
In May 2023, it was announced that Olympic gold medalist Tamyra Mensah Stock had signed a developmental deal with WWE.
Now, just over a year later, she’s taped her first match for NXT Level Up.
During tonight’s July 2 Level Up tapings, Stock worked a match against WWE NXT star Wren Sinclair.
According to the graphics used for her entrance, Stock is going by the name Tyra Mae Steele.
The Tyra seemingly comes from her real first name Tamyra, and the initials of Mae Steele being MS, the same as Mensah Stock.
She has worked a few non-televised matches at WWE NXT live events this year, but this is her on-screen debut match.
Stock won an Olyympic gold medal in 2021 for women’s freestyle wrestling at 68 kg.
The match against Sinclair will likely air this coming Friday on the WWE Network right after SmackDown.
Other matches taped are Josh Briggs vs Shiloh Hill, and Luca Crusifino vs Uriah Connors.
