A WWE star has disputed the validity of the contract signing for the SummerSlam match between John Cena and Cody Rhodes on last night’s SmackDown.

On last night’s show in San Antonio, TX, it was advertised that John Cena and Cody Rhodes would sign the contract for their Undisputed WWE Championship match at SummerSlam 2025.

However, while Rhodes put his name to paper, Cena attempted to get out of the match, something that led to “The American Nightmare” to take matters into his own hands.

Forcefully signing Cena’s signature on the contract after putting the 17-time world champion through a table, Rhodes also informed an unconscious Cena that the match at SummerSlam would be a Street Fight.

In reaction to the segment, NXT star Luca Crusifino publicly declared that the SummerSlam contract was invalid due to Cena’s state at the time he ‘signed’ the document.

Taking to Twitter, Crusifino wrote:

A contract signed while you’re unconscious = INVALID.

No capacity.

No consent.

No deal.

When YouTuber SantiZap wrote: “contract law doesn’t exist in WWE”, Crusifino then seemingly teased that he could potentially do something to correct this injustice, writing:

If only there was a lawyer to enforce it …

Crusifino famously left his law school studies to sign with WWE and debuted with a lawyer character in WWE’s developmental brand before joining Tony D’Angelo’s The Family faction.

Crusifino and former stablemate Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo suffered a loss to D’Angelo in a three-way on this past Tuesday’s NXT.
