A WWE star has commented on their first intergender bout in the company.
On the December 19 edition of WWE Raw, Rhea Ripley defeated Akira Tozawa in an intergender match. This marked the first non-24/7 title intergender match on WWE TV since Sasha Banks vs. Reginald on the January 22, 2021 episode of SmackDown.
Following Raw, Akira Tozawa took to Twitter to simply wish the fans a Merry Christmas and stated his year is officially over after the loss. He tweeted:
“My 2022 is over. Merry Christmas. Happy holidays.”
Rhea Ripley has been on a roll since aligning with The Judgment Day earlier this year. Her group with Finn Balor, Damian Priest and Dominik Mysterio have become a mainstay on television the past few months.
Meanwhile, Tozawa has seen a mini resurgence with appearances on the last few weeks of WWE Raw.
