A WWE star has commented after capturing his first singles championship in his career on last night’s episode of NXT.
It was announced last week that the reigning NXT Heritage Cup Champion Noam Dar had been sidelined with an injury, leading to the Cup being vacated.
Dar was set for a defence against Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo on last night’s episode of WWE NXT, but he ended up being replaced by Tony D’Angelo, with the two former stablemates facing off for the cup.
It was Stacks who ended up picking up the victory after Luca Crusifino accidentally hit D’Angelo with a bucket, allowing Stacks to win the first singles title of his career.
Following his win, Stacks took to Twitter, where he reacted to his victory.
He said:
Used to carry the cup around for the lazy “Don”. Now I’m carrying it for myself.
No family needed.
After the match, Tony attacked Luca Crusifino, with him telling Luca that he doesn’t trust him after Stacks recently said that his consigliere got him the Heritage Cup match.
