WWE
A WWE star has announced he’ll be taking a break from the company’s programming for a month, going on an excursion to Japan.
While WWE’s partnership with TNA and acquisition of AAA have made headlines, the company has also established a lesser-publicized relationship with Pro-Wrestling NOAH in Japan.
The partnership has seen Josh Briggs and Tavion Heights compete in last year’s N-1 Victory tournament, and Omos have a short run earlier this year, even winning NOAH’s GHC Tag Team Championship.
In the other direction, NOAH’s Yoshiki Inamura was brought over to NXT and has been featured over the past few months.
The latest chapter in WWE’s Japan relations looks to have been revealed, as Charlie Dempsey announced on NXT tonight that he’s going to Japan for a month.
Dempsey asked Wren Sinclair to hold down the fort in NXT on behalf of the No Quarter Catch Crew while he’s gone.
Dempsey didn’t outright say he’ll be working for NOAH, and he did actually have a few matches for AJPW last year, so that could be a possibility as well.
