WWE Star On How Grief Has Pushed Him Forward WWE

One WWE star is sharing the story of finding out he had made it to WWE mere days before his Father’s tragic passing.

Making an appearance on ‘Out of Character’ with Ryan Satin, Cameron Grimes discussed a variety of topics but a piece of his personal story was interwoven throughout.

As an on-screen character in NXT, Grimes’ real life hardships including grief over his Father passing away amplified the triumphant moment he captured the North American Championship at last year’s NXT Stand & Deliver 2022.

Speaking about having lost his Father so close to the time he was signed by WWE, Grimes said:

“I was told on a Wednesday that I was signed to the WWE. I was able to tell my father on that day that I had made it to the WWE. Then four days later, I received a call that my father had passed away. Ultimately, this was my father’s dream for me as well.

“As much as it was my dream, it was his dream for me as well. He put me into situations and opportunities that I was able to take advantage of and be able to make him proud, and ever since that moment, I feel like he’s been there with me every step of the way.

“We’re only going up, and now that we are at the top, we are at the peak, I feel like it’s a little bit easier for him to see me.”

Cameron Grimes has made his debut on the main roster, taking on SmackDown stars like Baron Corbin.
