Top WWE Star Says Major Hollywood Movie Role Was ‘Taken Away’ From Them WWE

A top WWE star has revealed that a role in a major Hollywood movie was “taken away” from them several years ago.

In late 2022 it was reported by Fightful Select that Damian Priest was asked to read for the role of Namor in Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, as well as another role in the film.

Priest never landed the role, with it being unclear at the time what had happened, thankfully now we have answers as the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion explained all to Chris Van Vliet on Insight.

Priest confirmed that he did in fact secure a role in the film, however, it was taken away from him, and not by Marvel – all but confirming it was instead WWE who did so.

Priest said:

“It’s a long story, but basically it got taken away from me, but not from Marvel.”

Following Priest’s comments, Van Vliet would mention that the previous regime in WWE was less open to stars working on outside projects unless the company had a hand in them also.

Priest was then asked whether he would be open to working on another Marvel project in the future, to which he said:

“It’d be cool, I’m ready. It’s funny because now I’m busier than ever. Look, come what may, I’m good with it.

“Maybe I do something like that, I do that and go a different route, and I’m not sitting here with you, being a world champion. I won a World Championship at WrestleMania. I don’t know if that happens.”

Earlier this year Priest signed with Hollywood talent agency Paradigm, one of many stars in the company to do so this year along with the likes of CM Punk, Tiffany Stratton among others.
