A WWE star has said that ‘more than anything’ they could hope for in their own career, she wants her real-life husband to join her in the company.
In an interview with The Wrestling Classic, Chelsea Green spoke about what she wants more than anything else for herself in her career at this stage – that being for her real-life husband Matt Cardona to return to WWE.
Chelsea Green said:
“I want to see Matt in WWE, honestly more than anything else, anything else that I even could want out of my career.
I feel guilt because first of all, he supports me like no other. He’s so happy for me. He watches everything I do. He’s at shows when I’m winning championships. But at the end of the day, I go home and I know that this was his dream.
I joke with you about the fact that I googled how to be a WWE Diva, but he didn’t. He literally came out of the womb wanting to be a WWE Superstar.”
Chelsea Green remains WWE Women’s United States Champion after winning a tournament to crown the inaugural winner of the title.
Green has since successfully defended the championship against her finals rival Michin in a rematch between the pair on this past week’s SmackDown (January 10).
Cardona for his part has recently appeared in ROH, with reports suggesting he was offered a contract by AEW, but a subsequent update noted he had not yet signed with the company, with it being unclear whether he will at all.
