An NXT star kicked off the new multi-year partnership between WWE and TNA Wrestling in style by issuing an open challenge.
With the two companies entering an official partnership, all eyes were on TNA Genesis, with excitement regarding the potential WWE involvement on the card.
The first piece of crossover between the companies happened during the TNA Genesis Countdown show ahead of the event’s main card, with WWE NXT star Ashante ‘Thee’ Adonis showing up in Dallas, Texas’ Curtis Culwell Center to issue an open challenge to any TNA star in the locker room.
Answering the challenge would be none other than Jake Something, who was back inside a TNA ring for the first time in over a month.
While it was Ashante’s debut in TNA, he would have no beginner’s luck as Something came out on top in the bout by hitting ‘Into the Void’ on the NXT star.
Footage of the match and Ashante’s open challenge can be seen down below.
