
A WWE star is set for their first ever movie role, announcing the news via a post on social media.
Taking to Twitter on Friday, May 16, WWE backstage interviewer Cathy Kelley revealed that she’s landed a role in an upcoming movie.
Posting a photo of herself stood next to a trailer, Kelley concealed what is presumably the name of the project via some well positioned emojis.
Kelley’s post wrote:
first movie role: coming soon
Kelley’s previous acting experience includes an appearance in a single episode of the Netflix TV series Black AF, which aired in 2020.
We will provide updates on Kelley’s role in the movie, as well as details as to what exactly it is when details are made available.
Kelley’s announcement comes following a report from PWInsider Elite which revealed that Kelley has been undergoing in-ring training and promo classes at the WWE Performance Center “for some time”, with her potentia future direction being a “manager-esque role” on TV.
Kelley returned to WWE in 2022, having originally been signed to the company between 2016-2020, appearing predominantly on the Raw brand, as well as hosting digital WWE events such as the Slammy Awards.
