WWE Star Reveals Last-Minute John Cena Tribute At Saturday Night’s Main Event

WWE Star Reveals Last-Minute John Cena Tribute At Saturday Night’s Main Event WWE

A WWE star has revealed the last-minute manner in which her John Cena tribute at Saturday Night’s Main Event came about.

In what was an emotional night for all involved, John Cena wrapped up his over 23 year WWE career at Saturday Night’s Main Event, losing to GUNTHER via submission in the show’s closing contest.

While the entire show was in dedication to WWE’s “Greatest of All Time”, three other matches also took place on the card – one of which saw NXT’s Sol Ruca take on WWE veteran Bayley one-on-one.

After Ruca won the match, herself, Bayley and their respective teammates Zaria and Lyra Valkyria all posed in the ring and gave a salute to Cena, but that wasn’t the only tribute to the 17-time world champion in the match.

Taking to Twitter, Bayley revealed that the red and black gear she wore for the match was also a tribute to Cena, specifically his WWE debut match against Kurt Angle on June 27, 2002.

However, the homage to Cena almost didn’t come to be, as in her post Bayley revealed that her original gear “got stuck in some bad weather”, which led to her seamstress team having to make new gear in 24 hours.

Bayley wrote:

My original gear got stuck in some bad weather, so I text our seamstress team Friday morning asking for a miracle. Lori here MADE THIS GEAR FOR ME IN 24 HOURS. I gave her the colors and she got to work

That is a TRUE superstar. Thank you @nogimmickgear!!!
