Fightful Select is reporting that Kona Reeves has been back at the WWE Performance Center for “quite some time” after undergoing surgery 15 months ago.
The NXT star is said to be ready to make a return, with the NXT creative team even being tasked with coming up with pitches for him. When Reeves does return, he is set to have a “significant character change”.
Several guest coaches at the WWE Performance Center have pointed out to Fightful how much they enjoyed working with Reeves during their time at the training facility, clearly showing he’s a well-liked figure behind the scenes.
Reeves’ last match came on the February 19 episode of WWE NXT back in 2020. During that show, Kona Reeves was defeated by Keith Lee, who has since gone on to leave NXT and move over to Monday Night Raw.
Kona Reeves is not set to be the only person returning to NXT, as the plans that WWE has for former NXT Champion Samoa Joe on the black and gold brand have now been revealed.
