WWE Star Undergoes Name Change

WWE Star Undergoes Name Change WWE

It appears as though another WWE star has undergone a name change recently.

Simone Johnson, daughter of WWE icon Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, had been signed to WWE for several years, before she eventually debuted on NXT television last year.

Johnson, under her ring name Ava Raine, joined Joe Gacy’s Schism group on the October 25 episode of NXT, joining forces with Gacy, Rip Fowler and Jagger Reid.

Recently, the group found itself at war with Chase U, with Ava abducting Thea Hail, and costing Thea her match with Tiffany Stratton on last week’s show.

However, it appears as though the days of Ava Raine are over, as her WWE.com profile now simply lists her as ‘Ava’.

Ava joins the long list of WWE stars who have had their full names chopped to simply be one word names, including Angel, Humberto, Shotzi and Big E.

Triple H gave first names back to Tommaso Ciampa, Matt Riddle and Austin Theory when he took over WWE creative last year.
