A WWE star has said that they ‘need’ to be the first-ever Women’s United States Champion after advancing in the tournament.
The tournament to crown the first-ever Women’s United States Champion has been taking place on SmackDown over the past three weeks, with Bayley scoring the win over B-FAB and Candice LeRae, Chelsea Green defeating Bianca Belair and Blair Davenport, and last night seeing Michin advance over Piper Niven and Lash Legend.
Michin’s victory will see her face off against the winner of next week’s Triple Threat between Naomi, Tiffany Stratton and Elektra Lopez, and she has now commented on advancing in the tournament.
In a SmackDown Exclusive after the show, Michin reflected on coming up short in the NXT Women’s North American Championship Ladder match in May, and how she needs to become the first United States Champion.
She said:
“I fumbled my opportunities to become the first-ever Women’s NXT North American Champion. This time, I will not fumble becoming the first-ever Women’s US Champion. This is not a want, but a need. I will be the first.”
