A WWE star’s storyline suspension has been lifted and he will be making an appearance on tonight’s May 5 episode of Raw.
At WrestleMania 41, the opening match saw Jey Uso defeat Gunther to win the World Heavyweight Championship.
On the Raw after WrestleMania, Gunther took out his frustrations by attacking announcers Michael Cole and Pat McAfee, setting up a match at Backlash against McAfee.
After the attack, Gunther was “suspended”, meaning he was absent from last week’s Raw.
In reality, he had just requested some time off and documented on social media that he’d returned to his home country of Austria.
His break wasn’t a particularly long one as it has been announced that he will be back on Raw tonight, and his “suspension” has been lifted.
WWE Raw General Manager Adam Pearce will moderate a face-to-face between Gunther and McAfee on Raw tonight ahead of their aforementioned Backlash match.
Also announced for Raw tonight: Rusev vs Otis, Penta vs JD McDonagh, IYO SKY vs Roxanne Perez, Becky Lynch calling out Lyra Valkyria, and an appearance from Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker and Paul Heyman.
