A former WWE star has pitched for a current champion to go on a dominant run in the company at the same level as Goldberg.
Last night at Saturday Night’s Main Event, Jade Cargill defeated Tiffany Stratton to become WWE Women’s Champion.
Stratton had been champion for over 300 days with a 20-1 record in 2025, her only previous loss coming at the hands of Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer at Crown Jewel.
Despite the run Stratton has been on this year, Cargill’s win came in dominant fashion, with Cargill herself even describing it as a “squash.”
After Cargill’s victory, former WWE talent Matt Morgan has suggested she should go on a Goldberg-esque dominant run for the next few months now that she’s champion.
He also pitched for Rhea Ripley to be the one to challenge Cargill at WrestleMania next year.
Morgan wrote:
Let’s go!!! Huge congrats to my friend @Jade_Cargill for winning the women’s championship tonight at @Wwe #SNME!! This girl has put in so much work to get here that It’s not even funny!
Now? Wwe needs to make her go on a Goldberg type of DOMINATE RUN, and have Rhea chase her for the title come mania imho. #Wwe so proud of you sis!
The win marks Cargill’s first singles title since she signed with WWE in September 2023, and her third overall, having been Women’s Tag Team Champion twice alongside Bianca Belair.
