WWE Star Pitches New Championship

WWE Star Pitches New Championship WWE

A former WWE World Champion has pitched a new championship for the company and already has the perfect inaugural winners in mind.

With the ‘Terror Twins’ Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest having been aligned since the original iteration of the Judgment Day, their friendship extends even further back.

Now that the pair have been respectively ousted from their former faction, Priest has a great idea for re-capturing the WWE Tag Team Championship.

In a chat with the Conversations with the Wrestling Classic. Damian Priest pitched the introduction of a new mixed tag championship.

Damian Priest said:

“It’s definitely possible. If they allow Rhea to be my partner for the World Tag Team Titles, we could 100% win it. I can see us beating anybody. Right now in WWE, there’s nobody I feel I can’t stand toe-to-toe with, and I know she thinks the same way.

“For Rhea and me to win titles together? That would be huge, very meaningful. We’ve talked about it. At the very least, they should bring back the Mixed Match Challenge and create a title for it.”

The WWE Mixed Match Challenge featured mixed tag teams with one male and one female star joining up across brand lines with only one Raw or one SmackDown team able to win.

The challenge ran for two cycles, the first airing on Facebook Live with the second airing after SmackDown.

The first pair of winners were The Miz and Asuka, winning a prize for the charity of their choice.

The second cycle was won by the team of R-Truth and Carmella which came with an important reward – each won the distinction of being the final entrants in their respective 2019 Royal Rumble matches.
