A WWE star has revealed their plans to defend a championship at SummerSlam in their home town ahead of their title match at Backlash.
WWE is set to host it’s Backlash premium live event in St. Louis, and the show will feature four championship matches, including Jacob Fatu making the first defence of his United States Championship.
Fatu will defend the title in a four-way against former champion LA Knight, as well as Damian Priest and Drew McIntyre amid their ongoing rivalry.
Speaking to News 12, Priest spoke about his upcoming match, with him saying he plans on winning the title at Backlash, and defend it at SummerSlam in his hometown later this year.
He said:
“It’s gonna be setting the table for what’s gonna be the greatest SummerSlam of all time. I mean, it’s already guaranteed to be that.
“So, I’m hoping that at Backlash I could win the United States Championship for a second time. Then go on and defend it, hopefully have Money In The Bank, and then defend it again here in front of the hometown.”
Priest came up short against Drew McIntyre in a Sin City Street Fight at WrestleMania 41.
