WWE Star Addresses Potential Match Against Brock Lesnar WWE

A WWE star has addressed a potential match against Brock Lesnar, who still appears to be in the midst of an absence from the company.

As detailed further below, Lesnar’s name emerged in connection with the big Vince McMahon lawsuit in January, and all plans for Lesnar to return to WWE TV were canceled.

These plans included him being in the 2024 Royal Rumble match, facing Dominik Mysterio at Elimination Chamber, then facing GUNTHER at WrestleMania 40.

Instead, GUNTHER faced Sami Zayn who beat the Austrian and ended his historic Intercontinental Championship reign at 666 days.

GUNTHER has spoken multiple times in the past about Lesnar being a dream match for him, and despite the situation, it doesn’t seem like that’s changed.

Speaking to the Daily Mail in a new interview, GUNTHER said:

“I always saw Brock as my final boss. I always get portrayed as that, as the NXT UK Champion, the Intercontinental Champion, I was like the final boss of that division. And Brock, for a long time, was the final boss of the whole company. So I always saw myself in my future to be in a similar position to him, and to be that you’ve got to get in the ring with that guy.

“We’ll see if there’s a chance for it to happen again. I’m more than up for it. How the situation is exactly right now, I’m really not that informed about it, to be honest.

“I think we had that one face off in the (2023) Royal Rumble, the reaction that was there and that was a confirmation for me.”

The last word on Brock Lesnar’s status came from WWE Chief Content Officer Paul Levesque (Triple H) in the post-WrestleMania press conference in April, when he said:

“There at one point was a conversation with Brock about Royal Rumble, quite a long time ago. Right now, Brock is home, being Brock, and we’ll see where that leads to from here. His status is the same as it’s been before. Brock is not gone from WWE. He’s just home being Brock.”

Lesnar has remained on the active WWE roster page ever since the situation emerged.
