A WWE star is potentially set to turn heel following a loss on this week’s edition of NXT (November 12).
In one of three Iron Survivor Challenge qualifying matches on the night Cedric Alexander took on Wes Lee.
Unfortunately for Alexander Lee would pick up the win via an assist from an exposed middle turnbuckle, both booking his spot one the card at WWE Deadline and also inflicting a third straight loss on the former Cruiserweight Champion.
In response to the setback Alexander stated in a NXT digital exclusive that something had to change.
Citing his near-decade of experience in WWE, Alexander said:
“I’m better than this. I’m better than this. I’ve been in this business for over 15 years, I’ve been in the WWE for over eight. I’m better than this. I should qualify for that match. I should qualify for an opportunity at the NXT Championship.
“But for some reason, I’m not. So what’s next for Cedric Alexander? What’s next? I don’t know. I can’t answer that question. But I can tell you one thing, it’s time for a change.
“I’ve been too nice to the people around here. Everywhere that you want to be, I’ve been. I’ve been to WrestleMania. I’ve been on PLEs with The Undertaker and Triple H.
“I am one of the best professional wrestlers in this world. One way or another, I’m showing everybody.”
While it remains to be seen what changes WWE makes to Alexander’s character, what we do know is that Wes Lee will be joined in the Iron Survivor by Alexander’s recent tag team partner Je’Von Evans, who qualified for WWE Deadline by defeating Lexis King.
The third Iron Survivor Qualifier on the night saw Sol Ruca knock off Cora Jade to become the first name on the line-up for the women’s match at Deadline.
