WWE Star Pulled From John Cena Last Time Is Now Tournament Due To Injury WWE

A WWE star has been pulled from John Cena’s Last Time is Now tournament due to injury, with the company announcing the news on social media.

With the final first round matches in the Last Time is Now tournament set to take place on tonight’s episode of SmackDown, WWE has issued a “Breaking News” update that Sheamus will be unable to continue in the tournament due to suffering a shoulder injury.

Taking to social media, WWE stated that Sheamus could not be “medically cleared” to compete, with further details on his status set to be provided on SmackDown.

WWE wrote:

BREAKING NEWS: Due to a shoulder injury, @WWESheamus is not medically cleared to continue competition in The Last Time is Now Tournament.

Additional information will be provided tonight on #SmackDown.

It’s not yet known how severe Sheamus’ injury is at this time, nor who WWE will replace him with, but we will provide further updates when they become available.

Sheamus defeated Shinsuke Nakamura in the first round to advance to the quarter-finals of the Last Time is Now Tournament, he would then compete in John Cena’s final match on Raw the following week at Madison Square Garden – teaming with Cena and Rey Mysterio against The Judgment Day.

Tonight’s SmackDown sees one of Sheamus’ opponents on Monday: Finn Balor compete against Penta, while Carmelo Hayes take on Bronson Reed in the other Last Time is Now Tournament first round match.
