Following Asuka’s recent re-signing, former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Shayna Baszler has re-signed with the company.
On September 2, former multi-time WWE Women’s Champion Asuka re-signed a new long term contract with the company.
As previously reported, WWE is in the process of re-signing several stars to new deals with the promotion.
Fightful Select (subscription required) provided an update, noting that former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Shayna Baszler has re-signed a new contract with the company.
The report notes that the deal recently came together, as Baszler’s contract was set to expire later this year.
Despite the exact length of the contract being unknown, it was confirmed that the former NXT Women’s Champion signed a multi-year deal.
In asking about Shayna’s contributions and how she is viewed by the company, one longtime WWE staffer said that Baszler approaches WWE void of any ego, and is always easy to work with.
One WWE higher up stated that Baszler has long been helpful in many ways with newer talent as well. This could be seen in her recent work in WWE NXT when she faced Lola Vice in a NXT Underground at the Battleground PLE.
WWE had a number of contracts that were up this year, with Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre, Humberto Carrillo, Angel Garza, Damian Priest, among others re-signing in recent months.
Shayna Baszler recently joined forces with Sonya Deville and Zoey Stark on WWE Raw as a new faction known as Pure Fusion Collective.
WrestleTalk will provide any further updates on Shayna Baszler and any other stars re-signing with WWE when they become available.
