An update has emerged on Ricochet seemingly being written off WWE TV, with a WWE star’s reaction to the angle revealed.
Following reports that Ricochet had given WWE notice that he intends to leave the company after his current contract expires, the high-flyer was involved in a big angle on the June 10 Raw episode.
After saving Ilja Dragunov from a beatdown at the hands of Bron Breakker, the duo later found themselves in a backstage brawl, which ended with Breakker slamming Ricochet into a car windshield, and Ricochet being taken away in an ambulance.
While many suspected that this was set to be Ricochet’s last appearance for WWE, some have speculated that Ricochet’s time on WWE TV isn’t over just yet.
Per Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, a WWE star who wasn’t named in the report noted that the segment seemed “way too elaborate” for someone’s departure, but noted that they were under the impression that Ricochet was on his way out.
Meltzer wrote:
One WWE star noted to us that it seemed way too elaborate of an angle to do for someone leaving, especially with the involvement of Irvin in the angle, although they also were under the impression he was leaving.
