A former champion has described the interest she’s received for bookings as “overwhelming” since news of her WWE departure broke.
Among the latest round of WWE roster cuts earlier this month was former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion Shotzi, with the California native being the last of 17 names confirmed to be exiting the company.
Unlike others departing WWE however, Shotzi’s exit was not a release from her WWE contract, with the company instead opting not to renew her deal.
While Shotzi has been moved to WWE’s alumni page on their website, it’s unclear when she will be free and clear to compete elsewhere, however, she has already seemingly been teased for MLW’s Summer of the Beasts event on June 26.
Speaking to Busted Open Radio, Shotzi described the interest shown in her since the news of her WWE exit as “overwhelming”, but “really exciting” at the same time:
“It’s been so overwhelming, I have just been glued to my phone the last few days, like, just answering emails and just trying to get bookings straight.”
“But, yeah, just completely overwhelming, but also eye-opening and really exciting.”
Shotzi previously enjoyed a prolific run on the independents prior to signing with WWE in 2019, competing for the likes of Shimmer, Evolve, GCW and TNA Wrestling among many other promotions.
Her last in-ring outing in WWE came on the February 19 episode of WWE Speed, facing off with Zoey Stark in a losing effort.
