WWE Star Removed From WrestleMania Title Match, Now In Quarantine

Former Divas Champion Paige appeared on SmackDown last week to continue her feud (sort of) with Bayley. Paige announced that Bayley will defend her SmackDown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania in a six-pack challenge.

Paige confirmed that the five women who will challenge Bayley at the “show of shows” in the elimination match are Dana Brooke, Naomi, Lacey Evans, Tamina and Bayley’s best-friend Sasha Banks.

It has emerged that this wasn’t always the plan, with WWE originally wanting to have Bayley and Banks go one-on-one for the title on the show. However, it was believed that following Banks’ injury, there wasn’t enough time to tell a proper story.

Regardless, WWE has now quietly removed Dana Brooke from the women’s title match. Rather than being replaced, WWE has just made the match a fatal five-way.

Obviously, with everything that is going on in the world at the moment, many fans were concerned for Brooke’s health and safety.

However, Dave Meltzer has confirmed on the Wrestling Observer Radio that Brooke was removed from the match because she is now in quarantine. At this time, it is not believed that she has Coronavirus or is even showing any symptoms.

This comes after it was originally reported that Carmella was supposed to be part of the six-pack challenge at WrestleMania instead of Tamina. However, ‘Mella is also in quarantine with her boyfriend and SmackDown commentator Corey Graves.

Of course, while it is great that WWE is continuing to put out content at the troubling time, it is essential that the health and wellbeing of its performers are a priority.
